Fall Girls Lax Clinic on Nov 8!
This clinic is for girls ages 7-14, at any level (beginner to advanced). Grades 2-4 attend from 9-11am ($30) and grades 5-8 from 12-3pm ($45). Come and develop your skills or check out what it’s all about! All proceeds go to the CHS Girls Lacrosse teams. Check out the flyer and come play!
The Luv u Project
Carolyn Mattingly was President of the WCHS Booster Club in 2004, 2005 and 2006 and a pivotal leader in the early years of the establishment of the club. Often signing her notes with “Luv u,” Carolyn showed her warmth and genuine concern for making a difference-through her countless commitments to family, causes, and community leadership.
“Carolyn was an integral part of the booster club and was involved in the critical years as we were forming policy, goals etc. She was the one to structure the Booster Club as a 501 (c) 3 organization, along with making sure all three sport seasons were recognized with a Booster Program Book and individual sports photos. She also helped us fight to have a designated field hockey field, worked to keep our stadium maintenance contracts going and helped us secure a new stadium (Bermuda grass) field. She also helped coordinate corporate banners and was key in helping structure our Booster galas where she handled most of the silent auctions. When she first joined the Booster Club, she “jumped in” and was ready to do whatever it took to help. She worked hard, did a lot for CHS, and was an overall amazing person and friend!”

On September 30, 2014, her life was abruptly and senselessly ended. In memory of Carolyn, the Luv u Project has been established as a lasting commitment from her husband, daughter, family, and friends to continue her legacy by supporting projects that Carolyn actively embraced: youth athletics, women’s support programs, and families with sick or troubled children.
“MCPS’ most successful booster club is what she left behind at Churchill. It’s a gift that continues to give,” said Arnold Tarzy, CHS Soccer Coach. Rich Mattingly, Carolyn’s husband, reflected that “Carolyn loved her work with Churchill. We are proud to know that so many good people continue to support the student athletes and next generation of community leaders.”
On Thursday, November 5, the Luv u Project will be holding its inaugural event to explain the Project and its mission. This will be a ticketed evening of dinner and drinks held at the Bethesda Country Club at 6:30pm.

CHS Community Night
The Churchill Booster Club and Athletic Department invited students in the pre-high school Churchill cluster to enjoy an exciting Varsity Football home game at Churchill’s Shepherd Stadium, Home of the Bulldogs! Over 70 future Bulldog students from the Churchill feeder schools got free admission to the game, a game souvenir, a ½ price “Dawg Pound” t-shirt, and greetings from our Bulldog mascot, cheer, poms, and JV football squads.
